Tasting Notes

Appearance

This is the first release of the Brown Brothers Dry Rosé Zero. It shows a vibrant salmon pink colour in the glass—a visual hallmark of fresh, delicate alcohol-free rosé that showcases the quality of fruit from Brown Brothers' King Valley vineyards.

Aroma

The nose is bright with fresh watermelon, ruby grapefruit and citrus notes. Rose petal and red berry aromas along with freshly crushed grapes and a spicy perfume dominate the nose, creating an inviting and complex aromatic profile.

Palate

A dry, refreshing palate that is mouth-watering and moreish. These characters follow through to the palate along with a fruitiness that is balanced by acidity and spritz but with a drier note. The wine has a vibrant strawberry pink hue, giving it a light and delicate appearance. Serve well chilled and enjoy whilst young and vibrant to capture the wine's fresh fruit character and lively nature.

Pairs With

Best served with an ice bucket, sunny days and great friends, the Dry Rosé Zero is the perfect apéritif. An excellent choice with fresh seafood such as Vietnamese prawn skewers or smoked trout blinis with crunchy summer salads, where the wine's crisp acidity complements the delicate flavours. Also perfect with a watermelon and berry fruit plate and lighter cheese like brie, harmonising beautifully with the wine's fresh fruit notes and refreshing finish.

Winemaking Notes

The Dry Rosé Zero is from Brown Brothers' Milawa vineyard in the King Valley of north-east Victoria. The grapes were harvested in late February. A short time in contact with the red skins was undertaken to ensure a light pink blush colour. After alcohol removal using the spinning cone technology it was bottled with an alcohol of less than 0.5%. This innovative approach preserves the vibrant aromatics and fresh fruit character of traditional rosé whilst delivering an alcohol-free alternative that maintains the wine's essential freshness and food-friendly nature.

Vintage Conditions

This is Brown Brothers' first release of the Dry Rosé Zero, representing an exciting addition to their alcohol-free wine range. The vintage in the King Valley provided ideal conditions for rosé production, with the Milawa vineyard benefiting from moderate temperatures during the late summer harvest period. The careful timing of the February harvest ensured the grapes achieved optimal flavour development whilst maintaining the bright acidity essential to premium rosé. The brief skin contact period allowed for the extraction of delicate colour and subtle red berry aromatics, creating an alcohol-free wine that stays true to the vibrant, refreshing style characteristic of quality Australian rosé.
