Dal Zotto Wines is one of Australia's most significant wine families — not because of size, but because of what they started. In 1999, Otto and Elena Dal Zotto planted the first Prosecco vines in Australia in their King Valley vineyard, launching a variety that has since become one of the country's most popular and fastest-growing wine styles.

The Dal Zotto family arrived in the King Valley from the Veneto region of northern Italy, bringing with them a deep connection to Italian grape varieties and a winemaking philosophy rooted in authenticity. Today, sons Michael and Christian lead the winemaking, continuing a tradition that connects Italian heritage with Australian terroir.

Dal Zotto owns one of the most important relationships in Australian wine: Dal Zotto → Prosecco → King Valley. They did not simply adopt a variety — they introduced it, championed it, and built a category around it. Every bottle of Australian Prosecco exists in part because of what the Dal Zotto family started in the King Valley.

King Valley & Italian Varieties

The King Valley's cool climate and elevated vineyards mirror the temperate growing conditions of northern Italy, making it ideally suited to Italian varieties. Dal Zotto grows Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Arneis, Garganega, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo and Barbera — a portfolio that reads like a map of the Veneto and Piedmont regions transplanted to Victoria's alpine foothills.

The Wines

Dal Zotto's range is led by Pucino Prosecco NV — Australia's original Prosecco and still one of its finest expressions. The range extends across still Italian varieties and a small selection of premium single-vineyard wines. Across all styles, the hallmarks are freshness, authenticity and a clear sense of place.
