Collection: Catalina Sounds | Marlborough

Catalina Sounds was founded in 2005 with a singular vision: to produce the best wines in Marlborough. Named after the majestic Catalina flying boats that crossed the South Pacific during and after World War II, the winery takes its identity from the iconic Marlborough Sounds at its doorstep — and from a belief that great wine is inseparable from place.

Based in the Waihopai Valley, Catalina Sounds produces Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris from estate and carefully selected grower vineyards across the Southern Valleys and central Wairau Plains. Over 60% of fruit comes from the Southern Valleys, where clay-rich soils deliver mineral focus and mid-palate texture that sets Catalina Sounds apart from the broader Marlborough field.

The winery is certified with Appellation Marlborough Wine — one of the region’s most rigorous quality benchmarks — and accredited with Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand. Alongside the flagship range, Catalina Sounds produces Sound of White, a single-vineyard expression from the estate, and sister brand Crowded House.

These are wines of genuine restraint and regional integrity. Built on two decades of single-minded focus on Marlborough.
