Hentley Farm is a single estate boutique winery nestled amongst rolling hills in the west of the Barossa Valley, producing exceptional wines. This wine 'The Beauty' is just one of their many stellar Shiraz.
The soil of Hentley Farm is deep red clay loam on the eastern bank of Greenock Creek. Being quite low topographically the vineyard sees shaded mornings, with a north - south orientation of the vines. Providing cool temperatures, ensuring ripe yet elegant fruit, soft tannins and lifted aromatics.
The Shiraz fruit for The Beauty 2018 vintage was harvested late feb to mid-March, de-stemmed and combined with wet Viognier skins(3%). 1/3 was fermented off skins in oak, 2/3 chilled with 1-2 pump-overs per daily and basket pressed. 18 months maturation in 35% new, and 65% seasoned oak with natural malolactic fermentation before bottling in November 2019.
