Distillery Info

The history of Masi Boscaini Mezzanella Grappa is that of a family and its vineyards in the Veneto region of Italy. The name itself derives from “Vaio dei Masi”, the small valley in Valpolicella acquired by the Boscaini family who are still the owners today.

Made from the pomace of semi-dried grapes used to make Recioto and Amarone, and direct steam distilled according to the ancient discontinuous still system. The name comes from the vineyard of origin for the grapes: Vaio Mezzanella in Valpolicella Classica.

Grappa is a centuries – old distillate that represents the final stage in a cycle that begins with the grapes in the vineyard, continues with special care taken with the grapes at the time of fermentation, and finishes with the use of the pomace, so that nothing is wasted.

Both ideal as an after dinner drink, either on its own or with dry desserts, dried fruit and chocolate. Often used by Italians as a spirit in a strong espresso coffee, it’s a stalwart in the Italian household.
