Winemaking Notes

Gran Sasso Pinot Grigio 2025 is crafted using traditional Italian winemaking techniques that showcase the artistry and sophistication of the Agrigento province. The grapes undergo crushing, de-stemming and soft pressing followed by static decantation. The clear must is then fermented at 12-14°C to preserve the bright, lively fruit character and delicate aromatics. At the end of fermentation, the lees are left to rest for approximately 3-5 months, adding complexity, richness and the subtle layers of oak, vanilla and nutmeg that complement the fruity and herbal aromas. The wine is then transferred and sulphated before bottling, resulting in a well-balanced Pinot Grigio with medium body, elegant smooth finish and soft lingering spice.

Vintage Conditions

The 2025 vintage in the Agrigento province benefited from ideal conditions for producing sophisticated Pinot Grigio with complex character and exceptional balance. The grapes were selected from north-facing vineyards where the microclimate offers perfect conditions to ripen the fruit and achieve great concentration of aroma whilst maintaining crisp acidity. These north-facing aspects provide cooler temperatures that allow the grapes to develop bright, lively flavours of peach, grapefruit, lemon-lime and delicate mineral notes whilst retaining the refreshing acidity that defines well-balanced Italian Pinot Grigio. The vintage produced fruit with remarkable depth, showcasing the artistry of Italian winemaking and the unique terroir of the Agrigento province, resulting in a wine ideal for connoisseurs seeking refined character and exceptional quality.
