Devil’s Corner Resolution Pinot Noir 2024 is a premium Tasmanian Pinot Noir of remarkable intensity and concentration — sourced from the Hazards Vineyard on Tasmania’s east coast, where the vines meet the sea and the unforgiving coastline shapes wines of genuine depth and character. Vibrant cherry, red berry, and delicate spice on the nose, with concentrated blackberry and sour cherry on the palate, subtle cedar nuances from French oak maturation, and fine-grained tannins that frame the wine with sophistication and exceptional persistence. Bold yet humble. Fearless yet considered.

Appearance

Profound crimson — a visual testament to the intensity and concentration of fruit from the Hazards Vineyard, and to the premium quality of Tasmanian Pinot Noir grown where the vines meet the sea on Tasmania’s east coast.

Aroma

Vibrant cherry, red berry, and delicate spice lead an expressive and complex bouquet, with concentrated blackberry and sour cherry notes complemented by subtle cedar nuances from premium French oak maturation — the hallmark aromatic profile of the Hazards Vineyard at its finest.

Palate

A generous, juicy core of fruit — balanced by a precise savoury structure and elegant, fine-grained tannins that frame the wine with sophistication. Exceptional balance and persistence, with the concentrated blackberry, sour cherry, and cedar character carrying through to a long, complex finish that showcases premium Tasmanian Pinot Noir at its finest.

Pairs With

Herb-marinated chargrilled lamb cutlets with bok choy, whole roasted duck with Mediterranean vegetables and a rich red wine reduction, wild mushroom risotto, and aged soft-rind cheeses. A Pinot Noir of this intensity and savoury structure demands thoughtful pairings — and rewards them generously.

Winemaking Notes

Sourced exclusively from the Hazards Vineyard on Tasmania’s east coast — a site of genuine depth and intensity where the vines meet the sea. The fruit was cold soaked and plunged twice daily until fermentation began, building lengthy tannins from the outset. A wild yeast ferment was completed with partial whole bunches to add texture and complexity, with hand plunging in open top fermenters up to four times daily at temperatures bordering 30°C. Basket pressed and settled for 48 hours before transfer to French oak, of which 16% was new. The result is a Resolution Pinot Noir of exceptional depth, concentration, and the unmistakable character of the Hazards Vineyard.

Producer History

Named after a rugged patch in the nearby waters of Tasmania’s east coast, Devil’s Corner approaches winemaking as the intrepid sailors who dared to cross it approached the sea: bold yet humble, fearless yet considered. Born and bred on the east coast of Tasmania, the Devil’s Corner team holds a special kind of adventurous spirit — never fighting against the elements, but knowing when to lean into them. It is here, on this unforgiving stretch of coastline, that something truly special is made. In growing grapes where the vines meet the sea, each Devil’s Corner Estate wine bears the mark of its home.
