Tasting Notes

Appearance

This elegant Australian Pinot Grigio presents a bright, pale straw colour with luminous clarity and youthful brilliance, displaying the lively and expressive character of fruit sourced from two of Australia’s most celebrated cool-climate wine regions — King Valley and Tasmania — each contributing its own distinctive personality to this beautifully crafted expression.

Aroma

The nose is fragrant and immediately inviting, with vibrant aromas of pear and tropical fruit taking centre stage, complemented by subtle herbal undertones that add freshness and complexity. The aromatic profile reflects the dual-region character of this wine beautifully — Tasmania’s maritime precision and mineral lift harmonising with the generous aromatic intensity of King Valley fruit to create a bouquet of genuine elegance and distinction.

Palate

Rich in weight and intensity on the palate, with flavours of ripe yellow pear and apple alongside hints of spice and savoury notes weaving together in excellent balance. The finish is clean and refreshing, underpinned by a perfectly judged acidity that makes this Pinot Grigio exceptionally food-friendly and endlessly versatile. Best enjoyed young and fresh to capture the full vibrancy of its cool-climate fruit character.

Pairs With

This versatile cool-climate Pinot Grigio is a natural companion to grilled prawns, pan-seared scallops, creamy lemon and herb pasta, Thai salads, Vietnamese spring rolls, or light antipasto, where the wine’s crisp acidity, tropical fruit notes and refreshing finish complement a wide range of cuisines with effortless elegance.

Winemaking Notes

The fruit was harvested and loaded directly to the press with initial oxidative handling to achieve a vibrant white wine colour and avoid any pink hues — a critical consideration for Pinot Grigio of this style and quality. The juice was then racked and fermented in tank under protective conditions and cool temperatures to preserve the wine’s fragrant aromatic qualities and fresh fruit character. A short period of partial lees contact and stirring in tank was employed to add mouthfeel, texture and complexity, contributing to the wine’s characteristic richness and palate weight whilst maintaining its hallmark freshness and clean, refreshing finish.

Vintage Conditions

The Pinot Grigio grapes for this 2025 vintage were sourced from two distinct and complementary cool-climate regions — Tasmania and the King Valley. This dual-region approach captures the finest characteristics of both areas: Tasmania’s maritime influence delivers bright acidity, mineral precision and elegant structure, whilst the King Valley contributes generous fruit weight and aromatic intensity. The 2025 vintage provided excellent growing conditions across both regions, with moderate temperatures during the ripening period allowing the fruit to develop complex flavours of pear, tropical fruit and apple whilst retaining the refreshing acidity that defines premium Australian Pinot Grigio of genuine distinction and quality.
