Winemaking Notes

Grapes harvested during the cool night hours for optimal freshness and fruit integrity, gently pressed, and fermented using carefully chosen yeast strains that preserve the natural carbon dioxide to deliver a refreshing sparkle. The rich volcanic soils of Australia’s premier wine growing regions — shaped by volcanic activity of many millennia ago — create ideal conditions for the growth of high quality grapes with natural vibrancy and character.

Producer History

“Chain of Fire” is the experts’ term for a series of extinct volcanoes that profoundly influenced much of Australia’s premier wine growing regions many millennia ago. The rich volcanic soils left behind create ideal conditions for high quality grape growing — and the Chain of Fire label celebrates that heritage with a blacksmith, in tribute to Vulcan, the Roman God of Volcanoes: a supremely skilled artisan whose metal-working forge was a volcano itself. Ancient fire, modern sparkle — in every glass.
