Tasting Notes

Appearance

The Sauvignon Blanc Zero is a vibrant colour with green hues—a visual hallmark of fresh, lively alcohol-free Sauvignon Blanc that showcases the quality of cool-climate fruit from Brown Brothers' Tasmanian and Victorian vineyards.

Aroma

The wine has aromas of melon and passionfruit with hints of freshly cut grass. These vibrant aromatics create an inviting and complex nose that captures the essence of premium cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc whilst containing less than 0.5% alcohol.

Palate

These characters follow through to the palate with racy acidity. This refreshing wine is true in style to its cool-climate origin and is best consumed when young and fresh. The wine maintains the varietal's characteristic vibrancy and food-friendly nature without the alcohol content, delivering a crisp, clean finish that makes it perfect for any occasion.

Pairs With

This flavoursome dry white wine makes a delicious accompaniment to prawn rice paper rolls with a soy dipping sauce, where the wine's racy acidity complements the fresh, delicate flavours. Why not try it with a traditional Caesar salad, where the crisp character balances the rich dressing beautifully. The Sauvignon Blanc is also often enjoyed with salty and high-acid goats cheese, a classic pairing that harmonises perfectly with the wine's vibrant fruit character and refreshing acidity.

Winemaking Notes

The Sauvignon Blanc grapes used to make this wine were grown at Brown Brothers' Tasmanian vineyards and cool-climate Victorian sites. The grapes were harvested in late February and March at a range of baumé levels from 11.5 to 13. After removing the alcohol using spinning cone technology the wine was bottled soon after with an alcohol of less than 0.5%. This innovative approach preserves the vibrant aromatics and racy acidity of traditional Sauvignon Blanc whilst delivering an alcohol-free alternative that maintains the wine's essential freshness and food-friendly nature.

Vintage Conditions

The Sauvignon Blanc Zero showcases fruit from Brown Brothers' premium cool-climate sites across Tasmania and Victoria, regions renowned for producing Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant aromatics and crisp acidity. The late summer harvest period in February and March allowed the grapes to develop complex melon and passionfruit characters along with the distinctive fresh-cut grass notes characteristic of cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc. The elevated Tasmanian sites and cool Victorian vineyards benefit from moderate temperatures and extended growing seasons, ensuring the fruit maintains the racy natural acidity essential to premium Sauvignon Blanc. This careful site selection and harvest timing creates an alcohol-free wine that stays true to the varietal's distinctive cool-climate style.
