Fresh red berry fruit — cherry, raspberry and plum — with an inviting layer of silky milk chocolate. Light and approachable with a gentle sweetness on the nose.
Palate
Rich and juicy with fruit sweetness. Silky milk chocolate flavour combines with the bright berry character of Cienna. A refreshing light bubble lifts the finish, keeping the wine lively and easy to drink.
Pairs With
Antipasti with cured meats and fresh red fruits, warm summer berry pudding with custard, chocolate ice cream. Serve well chilled.
Cienna is a grape variety bred by the CSIRO Plant Industry by crossing Sumoll — a variety from north east Spain — with Cabernet Sauvignon. The crossing combines the best attributes of both parents, producing high quality grapes well adapted to Australia’s warm, dry growing conditions.
Made from Cienna grapes grown at Brown Brothers' Mystic Park vineyard in the Murray Valley, north west Victoria. A naturally derived milk chocolate flavour was developed in collaboration with a flavour company. Fruit harvested late March to mid-April at baumé 13.5–14. Bottled soon after fermentation. Alc/Vol: 8.0%.
