Bethany First Village Shiraz 2023 (Barossa Valley)

The village of Bethany was the first settlement in the Barossa Valley in 1842. Predominately European immigrants arrived and began to build houses and till the soil. It was in 1852 that the first vines were planted on the Schrapel Family Vineyards in Bethany igniting a passion and tradition that continues on today, at the hands of a passionate consortium of South Australian's.

Sourced from a selection of Bethany's premium Shiraz vineyards, this wine reflects the balance and elegance of the 2023 vintage. Dark berries, spice and floral aromatics show on the nose and palate and are complemented by a structure of dense powdery tannins, giving freshness and great length to this wine.

Parcels of fruit were harvested and fermented separately prior to being put to oak hogsheads for 12-18 months maturation with the balance of time in stainless steel to retain freshness. The final blend was composed prior to bottling to give all the composite parts time to come together.
