Yering Station Village Rosé 2025 is a vibrant and beautifully composed expression of the Yarra Valley at its most energetic and fresh. Part of Yering Station’s classic Village family of wines, this rosé is built from six varieties — Sangiovese, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Nebbiolo, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon — each contributing something distinct to a wine that is clean, seamless, and far more interesting than its easy-drinking nature might suggest. Awarded 93 points by both The Real Review and the Halliday Wine Companion, and described by the Newcastle Herald as simply “memorable”.

Appearance

Pale salmon pink with a light, bright coral clarity — inviting and elegant in the glass.

Aroma

Pink grapefruit, hibiscus, and watermelon lead a lifted and expressive bouquet, with rose petals, cream, and a chalky wet mineral edge adding complexity and refinement.

Palate

Energetic and brimming with pink citrus, tart berries, and crushed herbs. The fruit and acidity at the core are juicy and salivating, framed with al dente tannin and barrel ferment texture that sets this apart from the crowd. The finish is as fresh and fragrant as the start — pithy, dry, and thoroughly satisfying.

Pairs With

Grilled prawns, salmon tartare, soft-rind cheeses, charcuterie, and light summer salads. Equally at home as a long afternoon aperitivo or at the table.

Reviews

93 Points — Melissa Moore, The Real Review
93 Points — Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion

“Has that lovely creamy texture you want in a dry rosé, then finishes steely and savoury. Delicious rosé, and very smashable, as the young people say.”
— Melissa Moore, The Real Review

“Packs plenty of punch on the gently textured palate. Finishes pithy and dry. Ready to enjoy now.”
— Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion

“This is more than just an easy-drinking, sip-and-forget quaffer. Rose petal nose, then a soft, creamy, red-fruited palate of raspberry, Turkish Delight and a squeeze of cranberry. Savoury, tangy… just good summer sipping.”
— Rick Allen, Newcastle Herald

Winemaking Notes

The Village Rosé is one of the more technically ambitious rosés produced in the Yarra Valley — not because it announces itself loudly, but because of the quiet complexity that sits beneath its fresh, fruit-driven surface. Six varieties are blended to achieve a wine greater than the sum of its parts: Sangiovese and Nebbiolo contribute structure and savoury depth; Shiraz and Mourvèdre add body and spice; Pinot Noir brings delicacy and red fruit lift; and a small touch of Cabernet Sauvignon provides backbone and definition. The inclusion of barrel ferment texture is a deliberate winemaking choice — adding a creamy, al dente weight to the mid-palate that distinguishes this rosé from lighter, tank-only styles. The result is a wine with genuine texture and presence, whilst remaining entirely fresh and approachable at 13% alcohol.

Vintage Conditions

The Yarra Valley is one of Australia’s most reliably cool and elegant wine regions, and the 2025 vintage delivered conditions that played directly to its strengths. A growing season characterised by measured warmth, good rainfall distribution, and the long, slow ripening that the Valley’s elevation and maritime influence provide, allowed each of the six varieties in this blend to reach optimal flavour development without sacrificing the natural acidity and aromatic lift that define great Yarra Valley rosé. The result is a wine of exceptional freshness and energy — the kind of vintage that reminds you why the Yarra Valley produces some of Australia’s finest cool-climate wines.
