Warrabilla Reserve Shiraz 2021 (Rutherglen)

One of the pillars of the Warrabilla wine list, our Reserve Shiraz is among the most dependable wines you’ll find anywhere. It's a relatively early picked variety and as such, escapes a lot of disease and weather pressures. This means that despite some vintage variation, there’s a consistency across the board among the Reserve Shiraz. Sight unseen, if you pick up a bottle, you've got a pretty good idea of the quality this quiet achiever is going to deliver.

The winemaking is rather "old-school" and gentle by nature. Open-fermenters, hand plunging while the ferment is getting going followed by thrice daily pump overs to manage the cap. In 2021 we were spoiled for choice with an abundance of new oak. The Reserve Shiraz saw its fair share with just under 70% of this wine treated to new American oak barrels.
