The palate is deep, opulent and complex. Scented blueberry, blackberry and ripe blood plum, shot through with darker notes of sumac and ground coffee bean. Winemaking Notes

Warrabilla Parola's Durif 2024 was harvested in multiple parcels from 4th March through to 20th March. The fruit was open-fermented in two-tonne vats with regular plunging, before spending 11 months in 100% new French and American puncheons. This flagship Durif is crafted from 100% Durif from Warrabilla's Parola's and Gooramadda vineyards. The Parola's Durif has long been the flagship of the range and whilst not released every year, they are relished all the more in those unicorn years when they do appear, possessing a concentration, palate weight and depth of flavour unlike any other. The wine is incredibly deep garnet with ruby highlights, vibrant and expressive on the nose with floral violet, lavender and sage over pools of dark berry fruit. The palate is deep, opulent and complex with scented blueberry, blackberry and ripe blood plum, shot through with darker notes of sumac and ground coffee bean. Vintage Conditions

The 2024 vintage in Rutherglen was quite unlike any other season in recent memory. The growing season was a continuation of the cool and wet conditions experienced throughout 2023. Rain fell regularly until the first week of February, whereupon the weather turned on a dime, and Warrabilla enjoyed weeks of warm, mild and dry weather. The long cool growing season, coupled with a warm dry ripening period, has captured an incredibly deep and detailed flavour profile in the Parola's Durif. This unique vintage allowed the 100% Durif from Parola's and Gooramadda vineyards to develop vibrant and expressive characters of floral violet, lavender and sage over pools of dark berry fruit. The palate achieved exceptional depth with scented blueberry, blackberry and ripe blood plum, shot through with darker notes of sumac and ground coffee bean. The combination of the long cool growing season and warm dry ripening period created a Durif with concentration, palate weight and depth of flavour unlike any other.
