Veuve Fourny Blanc de Blancs Brut Vertus Premier Cru NV 750ml (Champagne)

The real excitement in Champagne is from the small artisan producers in Cotes des Blanc. Charles and Emmanuel Fourny from Vertus are at the forefront of that excitement. They produce fabulous Cuvées of ridiculously good quality. This is beautiful Champagne from salt of the earth, hard working people and as good as it gets for the special moments.

Soil is redzine over chalk. The Chardonnay grapes come from several plots on the Les Mont- Ferrés (Vertus ler Cru). The
fruit from this site gives good concentration and produces quite aromatic juices and resulting base wine. Slopes face South and South- East giving optimal maturing conditions. Average age of the vines is 40 years.

Hand-picked. Pure expression of Chardonnay from Vertus. Blend of selected plots from harvests. 20% of Reserve wines from old vintages to give complexity as well as consistency of style. On tirage for 2 & ½ years. Dosage is 6 grams per litre.
