Montalto Pennon Hill Chardonnay 2023 (Mornington)

Consistency and excellence have been the secret to the Mornington Peninsula’s flourishing reputation for Chardonnay. This Pennon Hill Chardonnay is made in a ready to drink style, while maintaining the quality and esteem for which Montalto wines are acclaimed.

Hand harvested fruit is whole bunch pressed directly to French oak barriques and puncheons (23% new). A considered amount of solids is maintained in the ferment.
Following wild fermentation, natural malolactic fermentation brings the natural acidity back into check and the wine is then left to mature on lees; stirred when appropriate following appraisal to enhance flavour and texture. The wine is aged for 9 months in oak prior to blending and bottling.
