Winemaking Notes

The fruit for the 2022 Levant Shiraz was hand-picked and sorted, and mostly de-stemmed to retain intact whole berries that were tipped to five open vats. A measured amount of stalks were added back to complement aroma, complexity, and tannin. Fermentation and cuvaison lasted between 10 and 21 days, allowing optimal extraction whilst preserving the fruit's natural elegance and varietal character.

Vintage Conditions

The 2022 vintage in the Yarra Valley delivered exceptional conditions for Shiraz production. The growing season benefited from moderate temperatures and well-timed rainfall, allowing the fruit to develop rich flavours whilst maintaining natural acidity. Cool nights preserved aromatics and freshness, whilst warm days ensured full phenolic ripeness, resulting in wines of remarkable balance, complexity, and ageing potential.
