The 2021 Lake Breeze Winemaker’s Selection Shiraz presents a captivating bouquet of blackberry, aniseed, and chocolate. This full-bodied wine delivers a rich and complex flavour profile, complemented by a refined and balanced tannin framework.

"Only made in the best vintages; 70% ex 50-year-old vines, the remainder ex 20-year-old vines. Open fermented, some whole-berry inclusion, 7-10 days on skins, matured for 20 months in French oak (50% new). 300 dozen made. Again and again, the quality of the ’21 vintage comes through, hot and strong, here on the rich and juicy plum and blackberry-fruited palate."

Wines under the Lake Breeze Winemaker’s Selection label are only released in outstanding vintages when the wine produced is of exceptional quality. Only the finest barrels are chosen for the final blend, resulting in very limited quantities of these exclusive wines.

The 2021 Winemaker's Selection Shiraz is a classic, rich, velvety shiraz produced from 45 year old vines on the family property. The grapes were picked at optimum maturity and fermented on skins for 7 days in open fermenters, prior to maturing in French and fine grained American oak barriques for 22 months. It has an uplifting nose, showing blackberry, aniseed and chocolate. The palate is full and luscious, with excellent length of flavour and soft tannins.

This wine will improve with cellaring over the next 15 years. Very restricted availability.
