Curly Flat Pinot Noir 2024 is a wine that immediately feels alive in the glass — a true reflection of Curly Flat at its best, and a genuine expression of what the Macedon Ranges can do with Pinot Noir. Aromas of fresh raspberries and red cherries mingle with the soft fragrance of crushed rose petals, while whispers of cedar, vanilla, and gentle spice add depth and warmth. Beneath it all, subtle earthy notes of forest floor, truffle, and dried herbs give the wine a quietly savoury elegance that is unmistakably Macedon. Medium-bodied on the palate, with fine dusty tannins, bright balancing acidity, and a long, graceful finish. Vibrant, expressive, and full of personality — enjoyable now with a little decanting, and built to reward patience over the next decade.

Tasting Notes

Appearance

Bright, translucent ruby — the vivid, luminous colour of a hand-picked Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir from volcanic basalt and Upper Ordovician soils, with the clarity and freshness that no fining or filtration and 18 months in French oak deliver.

Aroma

Fresh raspberries and red cherries mingle with the soft fragrance of crushed rose petals — cedar, vanilla, and gentle spice adding depth and warmth, while subtle earthy notes of forest floor, truffle, and dried herbs give the wine a quietly savoury elegance. A wine that immediately feels alive.

Palate

Medium-bodied with fine, dusty tannins and bright, balancing acidity — the fruit carried effortlessly through to a long, graceful finish by a natural tension that keeps the wine lively. Seamless texture, layered flavours, and the kind of complexity that invites you back sip after sip.

Pairs With

Duck breast, salmon, mushroom risotto, roasted quail, pinot-friendly charcuterie, and soft washed-rind cheeses — equally rewarding at the dinner table or with a little decanting on a quiet evening. Enjoy now or cellar with confidence through to the mid-2030s.

Finish

Long and graceful — raspberry, red cherry, forest floor, and gentle spice lingering together in a clean, elegant close that speaks to the quality of the Macedon Ranges terroir and the care of the 2024 vintage. A finish that makes every glass worth savouring.
