Cobblestone streets, arched doorways, and bold fashion were the inspirations that led to Brown Brothers Classic Pinot Grigio — a textural and crisp white wine from the upper reaches of the King Valley with aromas of savoury pear and fresh peach. Unlike the richer French style, this is Pinot Grigio as it should be: crisp, fresh, and savoury, with the personality to shine on its own or pair perfectly with your favourite antipasto. Best enjoyed while young and fresh.

Appearance

Pale straw with a youthful green hue — the bright, inviting colour of a crisp King Valley Pinot Grigio from the 2025 vintage, with the freshness and energy that the upper reaches of the valley consistently deliver.

Aroma

Bursting with crisp pear and peach aromas — the classic Pinot Grigio aromatic profile in fresh, expressive form, with the savoury lift and purity that King Valley fruit delivers.

Palate

Distinct savoury characters and a tight, clean finish — textural and crisp, with the freshness and precision that sets the Italian Pinot Grigio style apart from its richer French counterpart. Savoury, lively, and immediately satisfying.

Pairs With

Garlic spaghetti, goat’s cheese, and olives — or an antipasto platter loaded with artichokes, asparagus, and prosciutto. The crisp acidity and savoury character make this a natural partner for Italian-inspired food in every direction.

Producer History

Brown Brothers is one of Australia’s most recognised and beloved family wine producers, established in 1889 by John Francis Brown in Milawa, in the foothills of the Victorian Alps. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, the Brown family has spent more than 130 years pioneering varieties and regions that others overlooked — most notably the King Valley, where the cool alpine climate and Italian immigrant heritage created ideal conditions for varieties like Pinot Grigio, Prosecco, and Barbera to thrive in Australian soil.

The King Valley’s Italian connection is no accident. The region’s early settlers brought with them a love of the varieties they grew up with in northern Italy — and Brown Brothers embraced that heritage, becoming one of the first Australian producers to champion the Italian style of Pinot Grigio: crisp, fresh, and savoury rather than the richer, more textural French expression. Today, Brown Brothers remains a standard-bearer for cool climate Victorian winemaking, with the King Valley at the heart of their Classic range.
