Collection: Ninth Island | Tasmania

Ninth Island is the approachable, fruit-driven wine label from Kreglinger Wine Estates, produced at the Pipers Brook winery in northern Tasmania. Named after the windswept seabird sanctuary that sits alone in Bass Strait off Tasmania's north-east coast, the range captures the freshness, purity and maritime character of the island's cool-climate vineyards.

The Range

Ninth Island wines are sourced from two of northern Tasmania's most distinctive vineyard sites — Pipers Brook in the northeast, close to Bass Strait and subject to strong maritime influences, and Strathlynn in the Tamar Valley, 70km to the southwest. The contrast between Ferrosol volcanic soils at Pipers Brook and Vertosol black cracking clay in the Tamar Valley adds complexity across the range. Wines are fermented in stainless steel without oak to preserve the vibrant fruit character and natural acidity that define the Ninth Island style.

The Style

Ninth Island offers an accessible introduction to Tasmanian cool-climate wine from one of the island's founding producers. The range spans Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and traditional-method sparkling wines — each reflecting the freshness and precision of the Pipers River Region at an everyday price point. Many of the estate's key vineyard blocks are now more than 30 years old, producing wines with genuine depth and concentration despite their approachable style.
