The 2021 Zonzo Estate Scoperta Barbera has aromas of sour cherries, violets and an earthy, dried herb background perfume. The palate is fresh and fruity, cherries again dominate the palate with fresh acidity making this a lovely summertime red. Light and lively. A medium bodied red.

Made in smaller batches using Italian varieties atypical of YV, this newest range was started as a way to find varieties more sustainable for our changing YV climate while also creating some truly unique wines.

Best paired to open minds and any cuisine, Scoperta is a conversation starter. A great choice for those looking for something different.

Sourced from the King Valley and harvested from the 3rd week of March 2021. Hand picked.

10% Whole Bunch with the balance fully de stemmed and fermented into oak fermenters. The oak fermenter received a mixture of pump overs, rack and returns. Pressed on day 12 and put into older oak. The whole bunch portion was periodically foot plunged. And pressed separately to oak.
