Wild Duck Creek Ducks & Drakes Cabernet 2018 (Heathcote)

The 2018 vintage Ducks & Drakes Cabernet Sauvignon from Wild Duck Creek is entirely from their Northern vineyards at Colbinnabbin, north of Heathcote. Vivid red in colour, with lifted aromas of black fruits and tobacco. The palate is rich and full of blackberry liqueur, bay leaf and olive tapenade flavours. This wine has a structure that builds up over time, with layers of lovely Cabernet tannins wrapping around the succulent fruit flavours. Matured in a blend of French and American oak hogsheads (30% new) for 22 months. It’s big and beautiful. Cellar for up to 15 years if you have the patience. The winery see this wine as the sister to their Springflat Shiraz.
