Shiraz in the Clare Valley is produced in a broad spectrum
of styles, but the best of them are balanced and approachable whilst providing a generous mouthfeel. The ‘Eastside’ name speaks to both the blocks within our Estate best suited to the variety, but also our Winery’s position within the Valley itself, on the Eastern side of our world-class region. Whilst delicious upon release this will reward cellaring for next 7-15 years.
Good winter rain allowed soil profiles to be full, giving the vines a great start to the growing season. A remarkably cool summer followed, providing perfect conditions for healthy balanced vines. The long ripening period produced fruit with a perfect balance of good colour, high natural acidity, and concentrated flavours.
This wine is an excellent showcase for the unique expression of Shiraz grown on our Estate. A combination of inoculated and spontaneous fermentation on skins for an average of 14 days in open vats. Gentle cap management to retain elegant tannin and aromatic qualities.
