Wild Duck Creek Ducks & Drakes Cabernet 2016

The 2016 vintage release of Heathcote winery Wild Duck Creek's Ducks & Drakes Cabernet Sauvignon is entirely from their Northern vineyards at Colbinnabbin, north of Heathcote. The winery see this as the sister to their Springflat Shiraz. Vivid red in colour, with lifted aromas of black fruits and tobacco. The palate is rich and full of blackberry liqueur, bay leaf and olive tapenade flavours. This wine has a structure that builds up over time, with layers of lovely Cabernet tannins wrapping around the succulent fruit flavours. Matured in a blend of French and American oak hogsheads (30% new) for 22 months. It’s big and beautiful. Cellar for up to 15 years if you have the patience.
