"2015 Turkey Flat Shiraz - a terrific wine from go to whoah. Deep crimson purple, this smells super with its aromas of briary dark fruits together with a little cedar/vanillin from the beautifully handled oak (the wine was matured in new and seasoned French oak hogsheads). There is an old vine creaminess to the palate which manages to be rich and concentrated but supremely balanced at the same time. A terrific wine from go to whoah." 95 POINTS - Phillip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion 2018

Winery & Vintage Info

Composed & meticulously crafted, this wine shows the true worth of old-vine Barossa shiraz.

An elegant yet powerful wine, it is approachable in youth, yet will cellar for many years.
This wine has been awarded the prestigious Barossa Trust Mark. The Barossa Trust Mark is our promise of origin, unsurpassed quality in every stage of production and care for the earth in which the vines have.

Generous, plush and rich on the palate, the 2015 over delivers in every quarter. Mark’s understated hand has crafted this wine from its beginnings in our 1847 Bethany vineyard, with select parcels from the Stonewell block to create a wine of presence, power and structure.

A dry winter in 2015 reduced yields and led to an early bud burst. Strong February rains relieved a hot and dry summer leading to a slow and even ripening period giving each parcel of fruit priority of attention.Wood spice, fresh cassis & black pepper.

This Shiraz is a result of a very intricate blending process. After each parcel of fruit is individually vinified & aged in specially selected French oak barrels, the final blend is created with careful consideration to upholding its reputation for cellaring gracefully, retaining its freshness and balance for many years.
