Tim Adams Pinot Gris 2026 is a fresh, aromatic white wine sourced from optimum vineyard sites across Clare Valley and Wrattonbully. Combining the variety's characteristic generosity of fruit with a crisp, refreshing finish, it continues Tim Adams' long commitment to producing one of Australia's most popular expressions of Pinot Gris.

Tasting Notes

The 2026 vintage opens with an inviting aromatic profile of corella pear, stone fruits, honeydew melon and subtle lychee. On the palate, the same fruit generosity is reinforced by a bright, refreshing acidity that gives the wine its distinctive crisp, crunchy character. The finish is clean and lively, with lingering citrus lift and a fresh, fruit-driven close.

Vineyards & Regions

Tim Adams' interest in Pinot Gris was sparked by a visit to Alsace in the late 1990s, where Riesling and Pinot Gris grow side by side on the slopes of the Vosges Mountains. Recognising Clare Valley's potential for quality Pinot Gris alongside its celebrated Riesling, the first vines were planted in the Ladera vineyard. For 2026, fruit was sourced from optimum sites across Clare Valley and Wrattonbully, with Wrattonbully's elevated terra rossa vineyards contributing additional freshness and structure to the blend.

Winemaking

Fruit was harvested early in the morning to preserve natural freshness. Grapes were crushed and chilled to 5°C, then pressed with pressings separated. A cool, steady fermentation over two weeks maximised lifted varietal fruit expression. Individual vineyard parcels were filtered before careful blending. The wine was cold and protein stabilised, then filtered and bottled under screwcap to encapsulate its aromatic character and ensure freshness.

Vintage 2026

The 2026 growing season presented a series of challenges: an early spring frost during budburst, a dry spell from November, and untimely March rain that reduced crop levels across the region. Careful vineyard management and considered winemaking decisions allowed Tim Adams to deliver a wine that retains the variety's signature freshness and aromatic lift despite the difficult conditions.

Food Pairing

An excellent match for Asian cuisine, seafood and fresh salads. The wine's bright acidity and aromatic freshness make it a natural partner for lighter dishes, from grilled fish and prawns to Vietnamese and Thai-inspired cooking.

Cellaring & Serving

Best enjoyed young and vibrant. Drink now through 2029. Serve lightly chilled at 8–10°C.
