Stonier Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir 2024 is a distinguished cool-climate red wine from one of Victoria's premier Pinot Noir regions. Exceptional quality from independent liquor specialists at great prices.

Appearance

Deep ruby red with vibrant crimson highlights that speak to the wine's youth and intensity. The colour displays excellent depth and clarity, with a brilliant core that gradually transitions to a lighter garnet rim. Good viscosity is evident, with pronounced legs coating the glass, indicating quality fruit extraction and careful winemaking.

Aroma

The nose is deep and brooding, dominated by enticing dark cherry and raspberry aromas. Layers of complexity emerge with aeration, revealing subtle notes of forest floor, dried herbs, and delicate spice. Hints of earthy mushroom and subtle oak add depth, whilst maintaining the pure fruit expression that defines quality Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir. The aromatic profile is elegant yet intense, showcasing the cool-climate character of this exceptional region.

Palate

Harmoniously balanced on entry, the palate delivers rich dark cherry and raspberry flavours with excellent depth and concentration. The fruit is ripe yet restrained, showing the elegance typical of cool-climate Pinot Noir. Savoury tannins provide wonderful structure and texture, with a fine-grained quality that speaks to careful vineyard management and winemaking. The mid-palate shows impressive complexity with earthy undertones and subtle spice, whilst the finish is long and persistent. Whilst already exhibiting beautiful balance, this wine will continue to evolve and expand over the next 12 months and beyond.

Pairs With

Perfect with roasted duck breast, pan-seared salmon, and mushroom risotto. Pairs beautifully with lamb rack, charcuterie boards, and aged Gruyère. Also excellent alongside coq au vin, beetroot salads, or truffle-based dishes.

Winery & Vintage Info

A blend of our Southern Peninsula grower vineyards, this iteration speaks of the balance and enjoyment that great Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir can deliver. The typical varietal aromas of wild strawberry and foraged pine mushrooms are prevalent, but the palate is where the wine shines brightest. Full and brooding through the mid palate and finishing with svelte tannin, this will suitably deliver for lovers of Pinot.
