The nose reveals delicate aromas of fresh pear flesh and chamomile, beautifully intertwined with subtle oak nuances. These gentle notes create an inviting bouquet that speaks to the wine's careful barrel integration and restrained elegance.

Palate

On the palate, a distinctive flinty character emerges, paired with sustained minerality that provides structure and complexity. The wine displays refined balance between fruit purity and textural interest, leading to a refreshing, lingering finish that showcases both precision and elegance. The subtle oak influence adds depth without overwhelming the wine's natural freshness.

Winery & Vintage Info

The Philip Shaw No.11 Chardonnay is produced from high altitude vineyards in a region firmly claiming its rightful place at the table of great Chardonnay regions, Orange of NSW.

No11 Chardonnay is named in reference to the original block that the grapes used to make this wine came from, block 11. More recently blocks 6 and 12, have been dominate in this wine.

The vintage 2023 experienced a delayed start, with a cool and wet spring and consistent warmer weather during the end of summer. A lot of effort has then been put into managing the crop and dealing with a mild wet Autumn to deliver ripe and healthy grapes into the winery.
