Peter Lehmann's 2019 Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz is an exceptional Australian wine, first created when former Chief Winemaker Andrew Wigan was inspired in the 1980s to create a sparkling wine from Barossa Valley Shiraz. Sourced from premium vineyards in the Barossa region, the wine is a true celebration of the unique and indulgent style of Barossa Shiraz. With a 'jewel in our crown' status, this Sparkling Shiraz boasts naturally low tannins, rich juicy blue fruit flavours, and a balanced finish of spice and savoury notes. Known as the man who saved the Barossa Valley, Peter Lehmann’s reputation is legendary throughout the region and Australian winemaking history. Today, Peter Lehmann Wines is one of the most established family owned wineries in the region.

The cool, slow ripening vintage of 2019 has melded the quality of Black Queen in to a age-worthy classic. Naturally low in tannins, the wine is soft and abundant in rich dark fruits with a lovely Christmas cake-like finish. The sweetness is apparent, but balanced by the complexity of fruit-weight and time spent on tirage before disgorgement.
