Mystery Wine Premium Pinot Noir 2023 (Adelaide Hills)

The 2023 ripening period was very cool with frequent showers, resulting in slow and late maturing. This has produced fine, elegant and stylish wines with excellent fruit characters. As usual, this wine is sourced from vineyards in Lenswood and Piccadilly and is multi-clonal, with MV6, D4V2, 114, 115, D5V12 and 18GM. Picking commenced on April 1st and finished on the 14th.

The clones were kept separate and all cold soaked and hand plunged in open fermenters. Each batch was pressed separately and run to French oak barrels, 25% new. After malolactic fermentation a rigorous barrel selection was carried out and only the best barrels (about 85%) were included in the final blend.
