Hochkirch Village Pinot Noir 2024 is a super biodynamic Pinot Noir from the cool-climate Henty region of southwest Victoria — crafted on land farmed by the Nagorcka family for three generations, with vines first planted in 1990 at high density with low fruiting wire to capture maximum warmth in this cold climate. Floral, rich, and full on the nose with a powerful and resonant aroma; attractive sweetness on the palate followed by fine tannins, great structure, and a long, savoury finish. A wine that combines fullness and density with precision and style — quite stylish too, with lovely lingering flavours on the finish. A remarkable expression of Henty’s cool-climate terroir and biodynamic viticulture.

Winemaking Notes

Hochkirch Village Pinot Noir 2024 is crafted using biodynamic principles in the cool-climate Henty region of Victoria, where maritime influence and elevated sites create ideal conditions for Pinot Noir of exceptional quality. The biodynamic approach ensures healthy vines, perfectly ripened grapes, and maintained soil health and vineyard biodiversity. Gentle handling and minimal intervention preserve the floral, rich aromatics and fine tannin structure that define this wine, with careful fermentation and maturation allowing the powerful and resonant aroma to develop whilst maintaining the precision and style that make it quite special.

Vintage Conditions

The 2024 vintage in Henty delivered ideal cool-climate conditions for Pinot Noir — slow, even ripening with maritime influence and elevated vineyard sites ensuring the grapes retained natural acidity whilst developing the attractive sweetness and rich, full character that define this wine. The biodynamic viticulture and favourable vintage conditions resulted in grapes with perfect ripeness and concentration, allowing the winemaking team to craft a wine of great structure, fine tannins, and a long, savoury finish — combining fullness and density with precision and style.
