Luminous golden in colour, the Forget-Brimont Millesime Premier Cru Brut Vintage 2012 has fine discrete bubbles and a complex nose with aromas of stewed fruit and mushrooms. On the palate an initial impression of Pinot Noir with balance provided by Chardonnay. Flavours of brioche and toasted bread with an undercurrent of dried fruits (hazelnuts, almonds). A mature round wine with a silky finish combining hints of candied fruit and vanilla. Perfect with foie gras on brioche toast.

The Forget family have worked the vines for over 200 years since the 19th century and made their first sparkling Champagnes in 1929.

The Champagne House of Forget-Brimont is based in Ludes, a small village with Premier Cru classification in the heart of Montagne de Reims, one of the most prestigious terroirs in the Champagne region. Led by 6th generation family member, Michel Forget, the Maison works 20 hectares with Grand Cru (Mailly-Champagne, Verzenay) or Premier Cru (Chigny-les-Roses, Ludes, Montbré, Sermiers, Taissy, Villers-Allerand) classification, mainly planted to Pinot Noir.

The blend of the Forget Brimont Millesime Premier Cru Brut Vintage 2012 is Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. This wine is made exclusively with grapes from the exceptional 2012 harvest.

Harvested by hand, whole bunch pressing, alcoholic fermentation at 17 ˚C and malolactic fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Ageing in traditional chalk cellars for at least 10 years. The wines are left to rest an additional 6 to 12 months after dosage before shipment. Winery Notes
