Fantini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2025 is a full-bodied, well-balanced Italian red from the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Sourced from vineyards around Ortona, San Salvo and Pollutri — south-east-facing slopes of clay and limestone soils trained on Guyot and pergola systems — this is a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC of genuine regional character at 13% ABV.
Tasting Notes
Appearance
Ruby red with garnet reflections.
Aroma
Intense and persistent fruit — predominantly wild berries — with a fresh and expressive bouquet.
Palate
Full-bodied and well balanced, with light tannin providing structure without austerity and a clean, refreshing finish.
Vineyard & Region
The vineyards supplying this wine are located along Abruzzo’s Adriatic coast, centred on the communes of Ortona, San Salvo and Pollutri. South-east-facing vines grow on mixed clay and limestone soils and are trained using both Guyot and traditional pergola systems — a combination that reflects the range of vineyard sites and grower practices across this coastal stretch of Abruzzo.
Winemaking
After gentle crushing and destemming, grapes undergo four days of cold maceration at low temperature before fermentation in stainless steel at 24–26°C over 8 to 10 days. The finished wine retains the vivid wild berry character, balanced structure and clean freshness described in its tasting profile.
Food Pairing
A natural companion to pasta, risotto, pork and traditional Italian cuisine.
