Domaine Royal De Jarras Pink Flamingo Rosé 2024 is an exceptional organic Sable de Camargue gris de gris rosé — crafted from Grenache gris vines that survived the phylloxera epidemic originating in 1863, rooted in the unique sandy soils of the Camargue and producing juice with the distinctive ‘pink grey’ colour that gives gris de gris its name. Delicate pale pink hue with luminous clarity, vibrant red berry and white peach aromas with subtle citrus hints, and a full-bodied, generous palate with a refreshing saline finish and the extremely low acidity characteristic of Sable de Camargue. One of the most distinctive and terroir-expressive rosés in the world.

Winemaking Notes
The juice obtained after pressing Grenache gris has a unique ‘pink grey’ colour — the defining characteristic of gris de gris. Winemaking focuses on preserving the delicate aromatics and the extremely low acidity characteristic of the Sable de Camargue protected geographic indication. The soil is cultivated traditionally without herbicides; a rye cover protects the soil from wind erosion from October to May, with more than 5,000 sheep pasturing throughout the winter. All products used are natural, with the goal of constantly watching over the well-being of the soil, plants, and animals, promoting the health of the ecosystem as a whole.
Vintage Conditions
The 2024 vintage in Sable de Camargue benefited from the region’s unique terroir and Mediterranean climate — the Grenache gris vines, rooted in the sandy Camargue soils that have defined this estate since before the phylloxera epidemic of 1863, developing the distinctive white-fleshed fruit flavours and refreshing saline character that define this unique gris de gris rosé. The 800 hectares of certified organic Camargue vineyards, managed in harmony with the natural landscape through traditional soil cultivation, rye cover, and sheep pasturing, produced exceptional fruit of genuine purity and terroir expression.
Producer History
Domaine Royal De Jarras is the custodian of 800 hectares of certified organic Camargue vineyards — all classified organic under European regulation and managed in harmony with the natural landscape of one of France’s most extraordinary and protected environments. Generation after generation, the estate’s mission has been to protect and enhance the area’s natural environment whilst respecting it. The Grenache gris vines at the heart of the Pink Flamingo rosé survived the phylloxera epidemic that originated in 1863 — rooted in the unique sandy soils of the Camargue that produce wines with extremely low acidity and a saline, terroir-driven character found nowhere else in the world. Precise viticulture methods, a commitment to organic production, and a deep respect for the ecosystem have made Domaine Royal De Jarras one of the most distinctive and environmentally committed estates in French wine.
