Heathcote experienced an ideal growing and ripening season, mild weather in spring and a warm dry summer. The upshot was rich ripe shiraz fruit in which produced this wine.
The grapes were monitored until the depth of flavour and tannin ripeness were the style required for this wine. The fruit was crushed/de-stemmed into fermentation vats for fermentation over the next 7-10 days at ~25ºC to extract maximum flavour and colour. The wine was then maturation for 3 months with a combination of American and French oak. Wine maker notes.
