Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve NV Magnum (1.5L) is a delicate, beautifully balanced Champagne — a blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier from the finest locations across Champagne, presented in the format that ages most gracefully of all. Floral, ripe fruit, and a bone-dry finish. The ideal Champagne for every occasion. Serve at 8°C.

Appearance

Pale gold with a fine, persistent mousse — the tiny, delicate bubbles that tell a great deal about the quality of this impressive Champagne, and the hallmark of a house that has been crafting Brut Réserve with the same precision and elegance since 1818.

Aroma

Fresh peach, pear, and nectarine on the nose with a complicating note of white flowers — aromatic and spicy, with cedar, honey, and ginger adding complexity and depth. Floral, ripe, and immediately captivating, with the maturity and bouquet that traditional cellar ageing and a multi-vintage blend deliver.

Palate

Fleshy, plush, and ripe — strong peach and ripe pear flavours in a powerful yet restrained style, firming up on the finish with a mineral note and very good balance and length. White currants and a rich but bone-dry aftertaste, with the structure and tension between richness and elegance that makes Brut Réserve a perfect food Champagne. Lean, intense, and fine in length.

Pairs With

Oysters, lobster, grilled fish, soft cheeses, charcuterie, and the finest seafood — or simply as the perfect apéritif for any celebration that deserves a Magnum. The structure, tension, and bone-dry finish make Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve one of the most versatile and rewarding food Champagnes available.

Reviews

  • “The tiny mousse tells a lot about the quality of this impressive Champagne. It is quite full in style, with flavours of white currants and a rich, but still bone-dry aftertaste. It is a perfect food Champagne, with structure and a good tension between richness and elegance.” — Wine Enthusiast
  • “Aromatic and spicy, with cedar, honey and ginger notes matching a firm structure and lean, intense character. Fine length.” — Wine Spectator
  • “Pale gold. Fresh peach, pear and nectarine on the nose, with a complicating note of white flowers. Fleshy, plush and ripe, with strong peach and ripe pear flavours in a more powerful and less restrained style than last year’s release. Firms up on the finish, picking up a mineral note and showing very good balance and length.” — Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar

Winemaking Notes

A blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier sourced from multiple years and the finest locations across the Champagne region — assembled with the precision and elegance that has defined Billecart-Salmon since 1818. Traditional cellar ageing produces the full, precise flavour and robust bouquet that characterise the Brut Réserve style. Presented in Magnum (1.5L) — the format in which Champagne ages most gracefully, developing greater complexity and a finer, more persistent mousse over time. Serve at 8°C.

Producer History

Billecart-Salmon was founded in 1818 in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ by Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon — and remains one of the last great family-owned Champagne houses, now in its seventh generation. The house is celebrated for its commitment to precision, elegance, and restraint — a style that has earned Billecart-Salmon a devoted following among the world’s most discerning Champagne drinkers. The Brut Réserve is the house’s signature non-vintage blend and the fullest expression of that philosophy: delicate, balanced, and unmistakably Billecart-Salmon in every glass — and in every Magnum.
