With Paolo and Filippo Polegato at the helm, Astoria Wines is one of the leading exponents of the Art of Prosecco. It was founded in 1987 by a family that had been dedicated to vine growing for generations and it is now the leading private Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG wine maker, with countless accolades from top wine competitions.
A vaulted cover for Venetian galleys, the tiemo sheltered commanders and officers from the fury of the seas. In the Bucintoro, the sumptuous ship symbol of the Serenissima, the tiemo was embellished with scarlet velvets and supported by golden caryatids: it was the place of honour reserved for the ducal throne. A precious Prosecco Doc, Tiemo is the Brut version of its twin Galie.
The grapes, harvested by hand on hillside vineyards, are quickly pressed and the must fermented at a controlled temperature; The subsequent slow second fermentation harmonises the aromatic heritage, returning aromas of fresh fruit and citrus fruits, the pleasantly balanced and versatile taste makes it ideal as an aperitif, with delicate first courses and spring risottos.
