McPherson Wines sources fruit from some of Victoria's finest wine regions, with a particular focus on the Nagambie Lakes district in central Victoria. Located approximately 120 kilometres north of Melbourne, Nagambie Lakes benefits from a cool to moderate continental climate with warm days and cool nights during the growing season, allowing grapes to ripen slowly whilst retaining natural acidity and developing complex flavour profiles. The presence of the Goulburn River and surrounding lakes creates a moderating influence that reduces frost risk and provides beneficial humidity. The ancient Cambrian soils—amongst the oldest in Australia—combined with gravel and sandy loam, offer excellent drainage and contribute distinctive mineral complexity to the wines.

Shiraz – McPherson Family Series

The Andrew McPherson Shiraz represents the pinnacle of the family's winemaking craft, showcasing premium fruit from carefully selected Victorian vineyard sites. This Shiraz expresses the elegant, medium-bodied style that defines cool-climate Victorian expressions of the variety, with vibrant dark fruit flavours of blackberry and plum, complemented by notes of black pepper, spice, and subtle oak influence. The cool nights during ripening preserve the wine's natural aromatics and fresh acidity, creating a refined, food-friendly style with velvety tannins and the structure to develop further complexity with age.
