Pertaringa McLaren Vale Undercover Shiraz 2016

The Undercover Shiraz is named in recognition of McLaren Vale’s history of supplying other regions with our finest red grapes. Known as the mid palate of Australia, McLaren Vale fruit is well regarded for its ability to improve the quality and richness of wines from other regions.

The 2016 vintage was in general very mild with low rainfall. The lack of rain looked like it would result in a quick harvest, but a big downpour in early February made sure the vintage was more evenly spread out. The yields were up on the couple of previous years and the quality is looking great. Winery Notes
