While the Sutherland Smith story in Rutherglen commenced in 1864, a new chapter began in 1991 when Andrew Sutherland Smith and wife Carol established Warrabilla Wines.

The cellar door was opened at its current site west of Rutherglen five years later. Throughout the years, the reputation for producing red wines of immense structure and impeccable balance has grown, while the commitment to quality and the unapologetic approach to flavour remains.

Working with three vineyards, on very different soils, to bring forth the best Shiraz grapes they possibly can year on year. It's a relatively early picked variety and as such, escapes a lot of disease and weather pressures. This means that despite some vintage variation, there's a consistency across the board among the Reserve Shiraz. Sight unseen, if you pick up a bottle, you've got a pretty good idea of the quality this quiet little achiever is going to deliver. Every good cellar needs a wine this dependable in it!
