Tyrrell's Special Release Verdelho 2024 (Hunter Valley)

Tyrrell’s is as much a part of the fabric of the Hunter Valley as the Semillon and Shiraz vines we’ve been nurturing since our founder, English-immigrant Edward Tyrrell, first planted them during the mid-19th century.

Having lived and breathed wine growing and winemaking in the Hunter Valley for more than 160 years, Tyrrell's has amassed an unrivalled knowledge of what makes the Hunter one of Australia’s, and indeed the world’s, greatest wine growing regions.

Special Release Verdelho is a blend of two of the best parcels of Verdelho fruit of the vintage. This wine was sourced from the Pokolbin Hills and Stevens vineyards which are both situated at the southern end of Pokolbin, at the base of the Brokenback range.

The 2024 harvest period was relatively stress-free without any adverse conditions such as rain or heat. Harvest took place in the early hours of the morning when the fruit is at its coolest. The grapes were lightly pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures before bottling early to maintain freshness.
