Sierra Nevada Big Little Thing is a Hazy Imperial IPA of genuine boldness and surprising approachability — bigger, hazier, juicier, with a commanding 9.5% ABV that belies its smooth, drinkable character. Vibrant orange and citrus notes dominate the palate, with whispers of yuzu adding complexity and a subtle berry sweetness rounding out the finish. Full-bodied, hop-forward, and without a harsh edge in sight — from one of America’s most iconic and enduring independent craft breweries.

Appearance

Hazy, deep golden-orange with a soft, creamy head — the rich, inviting pour of a Hazy Imperial IPA of genuine concentration and hop-forward intensity at 9.5% ABV.

Aroma

Vibrant orange and citrus lead a bold and expressive bouquet, with whispers of yuzu adding aromatic complexity and a subtle berry sweetness underneath — the full, layered hop character of a Hazy Imperial IPA brewed with Sierra Nevada’s unwavering commitment to quality.

Palate

Full-bodied and commanding — orange, citrus, and yuzu complexity carried on a smooth, approachable mouthfeel that belies the 9.5% ABV, with subtle berry sweetness rounding out a finish that is bold without harsh edges. Bigger, hazier, juicier — and surprisingly easy to love.

Serving Suggestions

Well chilled alongside bold, flavourful food — spicy barbecue, aged hard cheeses, rich stews, or dark chocolate — or simply savoured on its own as the serious, full-flavoured Imperial IPA it is. At 9.5% ABV, one is plenty. Make it count.

Producer History

Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. was founded in 1980 by Ken Grossman in Chico, California — at a time when American beer wasn’t known for quality, with fewer than 100 breweries in operation and most producing only light lagers. Ken believed beer could be more: more flavourful, more distinctive. A homebrewer since a young age, he opened The Home Brew Shop in Chico before cobbling together a brewhouse from scrap dairy equipment and brewing his signature Pale Ale with the whole cone Cascade hops he loved. He lugged a cooler to every bar in Chico, selling Pale Ale one bottle at a time. As Ken recalls, “ninety percent of people hated it. But the people who loved it, loved it.” Thanks to those hop lovers, Sierra Nevada grew — and so did the craft beer industry. Today, Sierra Nevada is sold in all 50 US states with breweries on both coasts, and remains 100% family-owned and operated. In 2025, they raise their glasses to 45 years of finest-quality beer.
