Osicka Selection Heathcote Shiraz 2022 (Heathcote)

Fruit selected from three different Heathcote vineyards. Two on an east facing slope on the Mount Camel Range, grown on red soil from the Cambrian era interspaced with greenstone and buckshot gravel. The other south of Heathcote, grown on decomposed granite near the township of Tooborac. The Mount Camel portion contributed weight and depth. The Tooborac fruit added that little bit of something special, giving lift and focus.

All the fruit was hand picked and processed through an oscillys de-stemmer and both mechanically and hand sorted in the winery ensuring only ripe whole berries were in the ferment. Fermented in small open top fermenters, which included some extended maceration on skins. The wines were pressed into older French Oak, including a seasoned 2100 litre vat. Aged for 14 months in oak it was blended and bottled in June 2022. Winery Notes
