The Gapsted Ballerina Canopy Saperavi 2021 vintage is a very deep purple/red colour. With complex aromas of spearmint, liquorice, spicy plum, star anise and blackcurrant. These aromas lead to full bodied and textured wine with rich fleshy plum and blackcurrant flavours. The palate is counterpointed by toasty oak and fine velvety tannin structure.
"Saperavi, a Georgian grape variety, is noted for its deep red colour. It's certainly a feature in this wine. So, too, is a generosity of flavour housed within a fuller-bodied frame. A strong band of black fruit and damson plum underscores this dark-hearted, intense wine. A vein of florals brings a touch of softness and aromatic lift.
