Best's Wines Great Western 2019 Sparkling Shiraz is a deep dark magenta with a glazed ruby hue. A rocky mousse fills the glass then subsides to reveal a lace of fine persistent bubbles. Intense and lifted aromatics of sarsaparilla, black pepper and bramble-berries. Secondary notes of fresh bread, tanned leather and fermented meats from maturation in barrel and on lees in bottle. Fresh and vibrant. Intense dark fruit flavours bounce around the fruit tingle finish.

The 2019 Rutherglen Estate Sparkling Shiraz Durif is a deep dark red with vibrant red hues framed by soft persistent bubbles. Fresh red berry, chocolate and spice coated with creamy mouth filling mousse. The residual sweetness balances with the chalky tannins to balance the palate. The result is a creamy velvety mouthful of flavour. Aromas of red berries and spice with nuances of darker berries and chocolate due to portions of the final blend having spent time in older oak to add a further dimension of complexity.
