The Ginfusion Blood Orange is crafted at the Original Spirit Co distillery on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula using 100% premium natural ingredients β€” no artificial flavours, no shortcuts. Juicy blood oranges and exotic Japanese yuzu are carefully blended with the distillery’s award-winning classic dry gin in small batches, true to the Richartz family’s founding philosophy of From Land to Hand. The distillery uses a German-made copper pot still, imported in 2007 when the family officially incorporated and obtained their manufacturer’s licence β€” a fitting tribute to the German distilling heritage that inspired the entire venture.

Producer History

Barbara and Christoph Richartz, both originally from Germany, founded the Original Spirit Co on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula in 2007 β€” but the story begins much earlier, in the memories they carried with them from the Mosel wine region. Barbara’s father converted apples from their family orchard into cider, apple schnapps, and a special herbal digestive. Christoph recalls being sent with his four siblings into the local forest to forage for wild raspberries, blackberries, and sloe berries, from which his mother created delicious sweet liqueurs. It was these memories β€” of family, of craft, of the land β€” that made both Barbara and Christoph want to replicate that experience in Australia. Small-batch processing began in 2002, with the whole family and friends involved in varying herb mixtures and maceration times. Something was still missing, so Christoph contacted a German master distiller, who accepted the family’s invitation to visit Australia. The missing piece was distillation. In 2007 the distillery was officially incorporated, a German-made copper pot still was imported, and the real journey began β€” from a premium harvest digestive to a multiple award-winning gin range. The Richartz family’s mantra says it all: From Land to Hand.
