St Hallett Riesling 2018 (Eden Valley)
Tasting Notes
St Hallett Riesling 2018 vintage has aromas of lime peel and talc, that mingle with orange blossoms and lemon pith.
A Riesling of substance. Full and textured, the palate opens up to layers of flavor; citrus zest with mineral talc and fresh limes.
The palate is balanced with a fine steely texture supported by a backbone of crunchy acidity. The finish is long, elegant and complex.

St Hallett Eden Valley Riesling encapsulates the classic definition of its origins. Perched 250 metres above the adjacent Barossa Valley, at approximately 550 metres above sea level, is the Eden Valley. This cooler climate Barossa sub-region is the historical home to some of Australia's finest Rieslings.
The St Hallett winemaking philosophy is simple - minimum intervention and maximum attention to detail.
Good winter rains in July and August preceded a warm and dry spring. The growing season was very dry from mid-November with very few rain events. Vintage time for St Hallett was similar to more recent vintages with steady ripening throughout the season. Overall a very dry growing season with a warm spring, occasionally hot summer, a perfect autumn and slightly below average crops delivered densely flavoured wines. Eden Valley Riesling, with their higher elevation cooler sites, showed zesty citrus and talc along with the hallmark crunchy acidity.
The grapes are harvested in the early hours of the morning, pressed cold and the juice fermented in stainless steel. Fermentation lasts 14 -20 days at 12-14 degrees to preserve the delicate fruit characters of the variety.
The grapes for the St Hallett Riesling 2018 are sourced exclusively from the Eden Valley. The higher altitude, cool nights and mild day time temperatures are ideal for producing immaculate wines with fresh acidity. Winery Notes
