The Zeppelin Big Bertha Chardonnay 2018 vintage is bright straw in hue.
With aromas of stone fruit and roasted almonds.
It is buttery and smooth on the palate with peach and cashew flavours.

Solid above average rainfall in winter helped to produce good soil moisture and ample base nutrients for the vines to thrive naturally. Spring and summer were cooler than normal with small patches of rain occurred during the ripening season.
Overall, the 2018 vintage in the Riverina was good with whites producing the stand out varieties. Chardonnay is
showing vibrancy, freshness and crisp, natural acidity.
The fruit was harvested during the night at optimum maturity levels to maintain freshness and flavour. The Chardonnay juice was pressed and clarified immediately after crushing and inoculated with selected yeasts. The wine was then fermented to dryness and then stirred on yeast lees for a period of three months to build texture and creaminess. A portion of this wine was also fermented on premium French Oak staves and allowed to complete full malolactic fermentation. This portion was then back blended in to the wine to add complexity and subtle oak influence.. The wine then received a light fining before being clarified and stored cold to maintain freshness.
